From our floor to anywhere on earth.
Custom-fabricated process equipment rarely ships like a standard freight order. Our shipping and receiving department coordinates each move with the carriers, customers, and project stakeholders involved — across the United States and for projects worldwide.
Planned as carefully as it is fabricated.
Custom-fabricated process equipment often requires transportation planning beyond a standard shipment. Harris Thermal coordinates transportation requirements with appropriate carriers, customers, and project stakeholders, taking equipment dimensions, weight, site access, delivery requirements, and project schedules into account.
Because the equipment is designed and built here, its dimensions and shipping weight are known well before it is ready to leave — so the transportation requirements are identified while there is still time to plan around them, rather than discovered on the day it ships.
In-house packaging includes shrink wrapping and nitrogen purging of vessels prior to shipment or for long-term storage — so your equipment arrives exactly as it left our floor.

What gets planned before it ships.
Shipment Planning Considerations
- Equipment dimensions and shipping weight
- Loading and lifting requirements
- Oversized-load transportation requirements
- Carrier coordination
- Site access and delivery requirements
- Project and installation schedules
- Shrink wrapping and nitrogen purging, when required
Across the United States, and to projects worldwide.
We have shipped vessels 20 ft in outside diameter and evaporators over 100,000 pounds by truck and barge.
Domestic Shipments
Equipment moves to customer sites across the United States, with carrier selection, routing, and delivery timing coordinated around each site's access and installation schedule.
International Projects
For projects outside the United States, we coordinate with the customer's freight forwarders and carriers so fabricated equipment reaches its destination port or job site.
Oversized & Heavy Loads
Equipment beyond standard trailer dimensions or weight is identified early, so the transportation requirements it creates are built into the project schedule instead of discovered at shipment.
